Company Profile The family business was founded by Fred Blount in 1945. The company specialised in all areas of plumbing and heating repairs and installations and included lead and copper work. In those days our plumbers could be seen carrying the tools of their trade around on bicycles & hand carts. As the business expanded steadily we saw our customer base grow. Our offices, which were based in Northfield Avenue near Kettering Railway Station, became well known to those that required our services. Nick Blount joined the company in 1976 as an apprentice plumber, heating and ventilation engineer. Business turnover continued to increase further and recruitment of qualified staff and additional investment of company resources was required. In 1984 Nick became a full partner of the business and administers of the business with the assistance of a professional management team.
A large workforce enables us to handle contracts in excess of £250,000 whilst still being able to deal with our grass-roots customers who may need repairs to a ball valve, a drain unblocked or a boiler serviced. We believe in the benefits of maintaining high standards of work through a continuous program of staff training. Our company annually provides recruitment and training for apprentices and staff. Because of this we have managed to retain a family feel within the business. As the new Millennium dawned we were busy with a program of vehicle refurbishment and replacement. We have also updated most of our computer systems and software abilities and continue to look at ways in which we can improve our services. We are the largest company of our type in Northamptonshire and with over 60 years of trading experience, we can offer a wide range of services to both commercial and domestic customers at a competitive price. |
